营养知识:益福生医CSO诺埃尔帕特诺论食物作为药物的力量

黄连素，一种中草药，是我的另一个最爱。临床研究表明，小檗碱可以降低坏胆固醇（LDL和甘油三酯），增加“好”胆固醇（HDL）。当患者的粪便检测显示对小檗碱敏感的潜在病原体水平升高时，一些医生使用它来发挥抗菌作用。它也在糖尿病中进行了临床研究。

 

在一个以药物解决方案为主导的时代，人们越来越意识到食物具有令人难以置信的治疗和预防能力。正如古语所说，“让食物成为你的药物，药物成为你的食物。”但这在当今世界是如何翻译的呢？我们真的能把营养作为对抗疾病的有力工具吗？如何策划一种支持健康、长寿和健康的饮食？在本系列中，我们将与营养学家、营养师、医疗专业人员、整体健康专家以及任何对此主题有权威知识的人交谈。作为本系列的一部分，我们有幸采访了Noelle Patno。

Noelle Patno拥有芝加哥大学分子代谢、营养和转化科学博士和硕士学位，以及斯坦福大学化学工程学士学位。她的主要工作集中在消化健康、微生物组和免疫健康方面，她设计和监测了临床试验，并发表了关于益生菌和益生元的出版物，并就微生物组、消化健康、益生菌和益生素等无数主题进行了演讲。Patno目前是Bened Life的首席科学官
